Dear Friends,

I invite you to join me and the CAPTAIN Community Human Services Board of Directors as we celebrate two very important events. Honoring Our Past, Celebrating Our Future will honor Sue Catroppa as she retires for her inspired leadership, deep commitment to the work of CAPTAIN CHS, and sincere love for our staff, volunteers, and community. At the same time, we will celebrate the appointment of Andy Gilpin to Executive Director in 2021.

Through your generosity, volunteerism, and commitment to lift people up and build brighter futures, CAPTAIN CHS has grown in the last 10 years from a Clifton Park-based agency with a budget of $700K, to a regional leader in all aspects of human services with a $4 million budget, offering over 30 programs across more than a dozen upstate counties!

Sue’s greatest legacy will be the creation of the Anchor Society Endowment Fund that will provide a steady source of income and protect the agency from financial stress. Our goal is to raise $1 million in commitments to honor Sue’s work and support Andy as he takes the helm.

There are several ways to contribute to the Anchor Society and honor Sue, including cash and legacy gifts. Gifts valued at $5,000 or more are recognized with a plaque on the Anchor Society wall. Importantly, whatever amount you give will honor Sue’s work and insure that her legacy will continue in perpetuity. You can find additional information and opportunities to honor Sue and become a legacy supporter on our website at

Dinner will be delicious, the setting at Saratoga National is lovely, and I promise a program that will warm your heart and remind you of why you support CAPTAIN CHS. Don’t miss this wonderful event; purchase your tickets today!
