What We Do

  • Spotlight

Because of the daily donations to CAPTAIN's Treasures, one of our clients was able to dress professionally and successfully for his very important job interview!

CAPTAIN CHS has partnered with the Saratoga County Employment and Training Office to offer this career success program. The Employment Readiness Program is a grant-funded program through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

Our Employment Readiness Program focuses on youth who are:

  • Saratoga County residents
  • Age 16 through 24
  • Out of school or at risk of dropping out of school, low-income eligible, youthful offenders, homeless youth, pregnant or parenting youth, children of incarcerated parents, or youth in Foster care
  • unemployed

The goal of the program is to engage, motivate, encourage, empower and prepare youth to get their GED, earn an industry-recognized certificate, enroll in post-secondary educational opportunities, and/or provide youth with job skill training that will ultimately increase their employability.

The Employment Readiness Program provides important program linkage to disenfranchised youth within our community who are not engaged in the workforce. Additionally, the program provides youth a means to break the cycle of poverty and gain valuable life skills that will carry them through the rest of their lives.

CAPTAIN CHS is a member of the Emerging Workers Council for the Saratoga-Warren-Washington County Workforce Investment Board.
