  • Respite Workers temporarily care for children, on an emergency or planned basis, providing relief from care-giving responsibilities for the family, which eases the on-going stress often experienced by families of children with serious emotional disturbances. Respite Workers supervise and engage the child in recreational activities that support his/her constructive interests and abilities. Respite will occur in the community with one child or a group.   • The part-time, non-exempt specialist will assist the Camp Director with daily camp activities and the Family Celebration program. The Senior Counselor is responsible for the daily routine of their assigned group of campers, working with individuals and groups to promote positive physical, social and emotional health and safety. ** Please send cover letter and resume to Jackie@captaincares.org.

  • The Peace Camp Intervention Counselor assists the Camp Director with daily camp activities and camper supervision. This part-time, non-exempt specialist is responsible for camper behavioral interventions and family conferences, and will work with individuals and groups to promote positive physical, social and emotional health and safety.   • The Peace Camp Activity Instructor assists the Camp Director with daily camp activities and the Family Celebration program. This part-time, non-exempt specialist is responsible for preparing and executing projects for the three grade-specific daily rotations, and will work with individuals and groups to promote positive physical, social and emotional health and safety. ** Please send cover letter and resume to Jackie@captaincares.org.

  • The Youth Care Worker ensures that all youth are supervised and cared for, according to NYS OCFS licensing regulations, as well as according to the Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter’s rules and regulations. The YCW will complete all assigned tasks during the shift and complete all required documentation regarding residents.
