Honoring Heroism and Humanity: The 60th Annual Four Chaplains Memorial Service Honor CAPTAIN CHS Staff Member Melanie Puorto Conte!

The Four Chaplains Memorial Service and Brotherhood Award Program will mark its 60th anniversary on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. in the historic Poling Chapel at the First Reformed Church of Schenectady. This longstanding event commemorates the extraordinary bravery and sacrifice of the four chaplains who gave their lives during the sinking of the troopship Dorchester on February 3, 1943. It also celebrates individuals whose service and commitment to the principles of brotherhood merit special recognition.

This year, the Four Chaplains Brotherhood Award will be presented to Melanie Puorto Conte of Niskayuna, N.Y., whose exceptional work has improved the lives of countless women, children, and vulnerable individuals.

Honoring a Lifetime of Advocacy and Service
