Programs and Services

  • Adult Computer Use

    By appointment.

  • Camp CAPTAIN Cares

    Camp CAPTAIN Cares is a volunteer camp for students entering grades 6-9. Daily field trips and projects. Applications available April 1st.

  • Employment Assistance

    Ages 14-24. Assistance with getting a job, completing your degree, creating a resume, or filling out an application.

  • HSE Program (formerly GED)

    High School Equivalency (HSE) classes, sponsored by Capital Region BOCES. For information, call 518-862-4707.

  • Homework Help

    Free after school support program for grades K-5 helps our youth compete in today's academic world. We offer unique extracurricular activities, educational support, snacks, and more!

  • Income Tax Preparation (VITA)

    Offered January through April, people earning less than $56,000 per year can receive free income tax preparation at CAPTAIN CHS.

  • Library Summer Reading Camp

    Grades PreK-5. Sponsored by the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library.

  • Little Free Library

    Take a book; leave a book! Open all year for all ages. Located out front of Cheryl's Lodge.

  • The Lodge

    Drop in time for grades 6-12. Come hang out and watch TV/movies, play video games, talk, or just relax and listen to music.

  • Peace Camp

    Monday-Thursday for students entering grades 1-6. Conflict resolution, problem solving, and violence prevention camp. Applications and camp dates available April 1st.

  • Senior Citizen Gatherings

    Ages 55+. Thursdays 1:00pm-2:00pm. Refreshments, conversation, games.

  • We serve breakfast and lunch to youth, 1-18, Monday-Friday.

  • Supported Youth Employment

    Income-qualified youth ages 14-20 work at Cheyrl's Lodge during the summer. Sponsored by Saratoga County Department of Employment and Training. Applications available in April.

  • Teens Reaching Heights

    Teens Reaching Heights is a free after school support program for grades 6-12 assisting youth with educational support and extracurricular activities.

  • What's Cookin'

    An enrichment activity for grades 6-12 where they learn their way around the kitchen. They choose, prepare, and cook a meal.

  • Additional Programs

    Cheryl's Lodge also offers: community forums; enrichment activities; family assistance; field trips; nutrition programs; and parent education.
