Youth Development Programs

CAPTAIN CHS operates multiple youth development programs focused on middle school and high school aged students in the Shenendehowa Central School District and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Central School District.

  • CAPTAIN CHS has believed in youth volunteerism since its inception. In partnership with the Shenendehowa Central School District, our CAPteen Program is a youth-driven, youth development program aimed at involving local teens in community service, philanthropy, and helping those in need.

    High school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to become CAPteens. They act as ambassadors for CAPTAIN CHS and commit to 30 hours of volunteer service. CAPteens serves as an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate a commitment to community service while building a resume for life.

  • Incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the Shenendehowa Central School District are eligible to become JR CAPteens. They learn what it means to act as ambassadors for CAPTAIN CHS and commit to 10 hours of volunteer service. JR CAPteens serves as an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate a commitment to community service while building a resume for life.

  • Job Assist is a free youth employment matching program for youth ages 14-21 residing in the Shenendehowa or Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School Districts, and local employers. Youth are provided with job matching support and employment readiness skills related to interviewing, resume preparation, understanding the hiring process and setting professional expectations for the world of work.
